Platforms like Besty AI vow to help hosts and property managers alike by automating mundane tasks and managing them for your rentals.
As Superhosts ourselves, we definitely see the value in AI-powered messaging apps like Besty AI. If they can take the bulk of these messages, it’ll free up a ton of our time and allow us to focus on other things. Today, we put the platform to the test. Let’s see exactly how useful Besty AI is in managing guest communication.
Best Besty AI Features and How Hosts Can Use Them for Their Airbnb
Instant Responses (Autopilot): This is the main feature that hosts and property managers will be using from Besty AI. In an ideal world, the AI will take over the communications for your rentals. It can answer guest questions and inquiries, pulling data from your listings, guidebook, custom SOPs, and even past conversations you’ve had with clients. The AI also continuously learns from your messages and uses those as a guide on how to interact with guests. The Autopilot mode can be toggled and will autonomously respond to guest messages. You are also free to set how long it’d take the AI to respond to messages, and even create custom schedules for when you’d like the AI to automatically respond.
Custom Tones: We’re sure we aren’t the only ones who have a separate persona when it comes to talking to guests. Well, Besty AI can match your tone and brand voice based on custom rules and instructions that you set. It also studies past and future conversations and takes pointers as to how you interact with guests. In our experience, it’s not perfect, but it definitely an improvement from generic chatbots.
Smart Notifications: At the end of the day, Besty AI is simply, well, AI. Despite how powerful AI can be, it still requires human intervention at times. Luckily, Besty AI is smart enough to know its own capabilities and knows when it’s time to call for backup. If it’s not 100% confident in its own ability to answer a specific question or message, it will automatically notify you or a chosen member of your team. This saves you time since it answers most of the repetitive and common questions, while also ensuring quality for more complex messages.
Auto Upsell: We know we aren’t the only ones who hate seeing blank nights on our rental calendars. Besty AI can help alleviate some of those through its auto upsell feature. It can provide discounts based on your set rules and templates and offer upsells to guests to try and fill in gap nights for you. You can set your preferred discount percentage, along with the day/s of the week you’d like to target. Besty AI can also help you reach out to previous guests and offer discounted stays through personalized messages that it learns from past details.
Live Metrics Dashboard: A feature we truly appreciate from Besty AI is their dashboard that automatically displays your current listing metrics. It has statistics for booking boosters, early check-in offers, and inquiry winback. All of these individual settings can be configured from within the dashboard itself and automatically displays the revenue you gained from simply activating these features. It really makes you wonder how much you were losing out on back when you weren’t offering these simple yet effective procedures.
AI Review Responder: We try our best to always show guests our appreciation whenever they leave reviews for their stays. So, we know how time-consuming this can be. Besty AI saves you the effort and automatically creates personalized thank-you messages for guests who leave reviews. It follows the same Autopilot mechanic where you can either set it to automatically send messages or await your approval first. It matches the overall tone and sentiment of the guest and responds in an appropriate manner.
Guest Sentiment Dashboard: The final feature we’ve found handy was the built-in guest sentiment detection dashboard. At a glance, you can monitor overall guest satisfaction based on Besty’s scoring system. It can identify sentiments and grade them into three categories; upset, neutral, and happy. Besty also provides conversation notes that summarize important points of the conversations to help you catch up with what’s occurring between each discussion. This way, you can always be on top and closely monitor your guests without having to read through each conversation. We’ve found this useful in quickly finding and addressing problems that guests might have. It also helps in identifying gaps within the communication and how to keep guests happy in the long run.
Besty AI Pricing: How Much Does Besty AI Cost?
At first glance, it may seem that Besty AI has a really simple pricing plan that scales the more rentals you have. Especially since they only offer a single plan that includes all of the features on their platform. However, it can get slightly confusing since they charge you the full rates for the first 10 rentals and only charge you discounted rates for the excess. Here’s a sample of the prices:
- 1-10 listings - $12 per listing per month
- 11-20 listings -$10 per listing per month
- 21-50 listings - $8 per listing per month
- 51-100 listings - $7 per listing per month
- 101-200 listings - $6 per listing per month
- 201-400 listings - $5 per listing per month
- 401-500 listings - $4 per listing per month
- 501-999 listings - $3.5 per listing per month
- 1000+ listings - $3 per listing per month
So for example, if you have a total of 45 listings, you’ll have to pay a total of $420 per month. Here’s the breakdown for a clearer computation:
- The first 10 listings cost $12 per month = $120
- The next 10 listings cost $10 per month = $100
- The final 25 listings cost $8 per listing per month = $200
- $120 + $100 + $200 = $420 per month.
They also offer 20% discounts for yearly payments but the same pricing system applies. We got a bit confused by their pricing scheme at first, but we made it work. Honestly, we would’ve preferred to simply pay a fixed price per rental per month depending on how many listings we had, but that’s just us.
Besty AI also offers a free trial period after signup, allowing users to explore the platform. We highly recommend using the free trial and playing around with their features yourself.
Besty AI User Experience
We’ve found Besty AI to have a quick sync time with properties linked to our PMS. Our team personally uses Hospitable and Guesty, but for the purposes of this review, we only used listings over on Guesty. Besty AI won’t work without a PMS to integrate directly with, so it’s important to check out their integrations to see if the system you’re using is supported.
Once syncing is done, you can go into each listing and customize how the AI deals with messages. There’s an Autopilot toggle that allows Besty AI to automatically respond to messages it can handle. You can schedule it to be on 24/7 or have custom shifts depending on your needs. We’ve found this to be a solid feature, especially if you’d like to be more hands-on with your customer approach. You can also choose to only enable Besty AI on specific properties and it even allows you to change how fast you’d like the AI to respond to messages.
Besty AI pulls data from your listings, guidebooks, and anything else you can supply it with like custom SOPs. It also uses your past and future conversations to understand how you like to interact with guests, continuously learning how to communicate with guests. You can also set up custom instructions to create a friendly and welcoming tone that matches your preferred brand voice.
It was a delight seeing that Besty AI knows its capabilities and intuitively knows what it can answer and what it can’t. While other AI-powered messaging platforms have similar features, Besty AI is one of the very few that intuitively does it without setting custom rules or clauses. Once it detects a message it can’t handle, it automatically notifies the assigned person via your chosen system. This is probably one of the major reasons why Besty AI is capable of running on Autopilot from the start and requires very little setup after syncing.
